The town of Portaferry viewed from Tullyboard Mill
Portaferry has a population of just under 2,500. Two frequent visitors to Portaferry in the past were Errol Flynn and Oliver Reed. Today, Portaferry is much quieter and more sedate.

The former Portaferry No 2 National School
This school was established in 1831 and provided elementary education for all children between the ages of 6 and 12. The old school faces the Presbyterian Church which is the present owners of the building
