Ballyhalbert harbour
A small former fishing harbour which seems to date from the late 18th/early 19th century, now almost exclusively used for pleasure. The photograph was taken just over three hours after high water Portavogie. See also Image (May 2008).

"E" sculpture, Ballyhalbert harbour
A sculpture at Ballyhalbert harbour, by Ned Jackson Smith, to mark the fact that the nearby Burr Point is the most easterly place in Northern Ireland. Officially it is described as “the striking ‘E’ contained in a large circle is intended to embody the concepts of navigation, earth and the compass in a minimal form and is the first very visible acknowledgement of the area’s geographic significance”.
