Former snooker hall and supermarket, Bangor
The premises of a former snooker hall and adjoining supermarket in Bangor. The buildings are located off Clifton Road in the town. The supermarket was a small branch of 'Wellworths' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wellworths which closed several years ago. The snooker hall was called 'Clifton Snooker Centre' and closed in early 2011. The hall was opened and owned by Edmund, Tommy and Jimmy Irvine in 1972. Edmund is the father of ex-Formula One star Eddie Irvine - Eddie bought the hall from his father and two uncles in 2002 but appeared to have closed it down due to a drop in trade. Eddie also owns 'Eddie Irvine Sports' http://www.eddieirvinesports.com/ in Bangor, a centre which includes several snooker and pool tables - the last team based at Clifton have relocated there. The buildings were later demolished - see Image from January 2015.
