MED approaching Bangor station - 1975
A UTA built MED set approaches Bangor station with a passenger service from Belfast Queen's Quay. The signals, which were of BCDR origin, were later replaced with a single colour light.

Former engine shed, Bangor (1)
See Image (June 2011). The Belfast (Queen’s Quay) service became entirely diesel operated after 1954 with the introduction of the last of the MED railcars Image The line then saw steam locomotives only on the very occasional special. The old engine shed remains standing, close to the Boyne Bridge. The lineside vegetation was trimmed recently allowing a better view of one of the few bits of ex-Belfast and County Down Railway architecture left between Belfast and Bangor.
