The 'Ava' bar, Bangor
One of the oldest licensed premises in Bangor, this building was formerly the Ava Hotel; before that it was the Railway Hotel dating from around 1870. The building itself dates from around 1840 when it was originally built as a house by a Dr Russell.

Steps, Bangor railway and bus station
Steps leading from the forecourt of the railway and bus station to Dufferin Avenue (foreground). Long closed and fenced off but suggested as a candidate for re-opening following a “public realm” survey conducted by the council.

Old Bangor railway station - 1
Designed by Charles Lanyon and built 1864-5 for the Belfast, Holywood & Bangor Railway, the station building was in poor condition by the mid-1990s. It was demolished at the end of 1999 and replaced with the present structure. See also Image

Catherine Place apartments, Bangor (September 2015)
27 private-sector apartments under construction on what was formerly a long-term vacant site at Dufferin Avenue. It appears that they will be offered for renting rather than for sale. This photograph appears as a matter of record only. I have no connection with the developer and cannot enter into correspondence.
