Tutsan berries, Helen's Bay
The tutsan bush is very common around Helen’s Bay and Crawfordsburn. It becomes more conspicuous as autumn approaches and the berries appear. This plant is growing at the Fort Road (Grey Point on the Google map) car park.

The shrub tutsan Image flowers from June to August. This one, in the car park at the Fort Road, also had berries at various stages of ripening.

Galled leaf, Helen's Bay
A leaf, on a sycamore in the car park at the Fort Road. It has some galls, which are caused by Aceria macrorhynchus, a species of mite. See also Image

Himalayan honeysuckle, Helen's Bay
An introduced species which has escaped over the years and (in my experience) not very common. This example is at the Fort Road (Grey Point on the Google map) car park but it also grows along part of Clandeboye Avenue. Wild raspberries, Helen's Bay
Wild raspberries growing at the Fort Road (Grey Point on the Google map) car park. This link http://www.habitas.org.uk/flora/species.asp?item=3322 shows them as being widespread throughout NI.
