Marino Railway Station
Another view of Marino Railway Station now complete with new shelters, lighting and re-painted lines. Although quiet off-peak, stations like Marino do provide an alternative to the increasingly congested A2 for commuters to Belfast.

Marino station
See Image In 1983 Marino station was a particularly unkempt place. NIR was in another of its periods of shortage of rolling stock and (as seen here) used locomotives and coaches, acquired for the Dublin “Enterprise” serviceImage on stopping suburban trains. This is the 10.00 Bangor – Portadown.

MED at Marino station - 1976
Marino station was opened by the Belfast Holywood & Bangor Railway in 1869, who provided a single-storey booking office and waiting room. This building received a second storey in 1900, when it became the Station Master's house - a new booking office (since demolished) being opened on the opposite platform. One of the very few surviving structures on the Belfast - Bangor line dating from the days of the BHBR/BCDR, the building is now private property. A UTA built MED set enters Marino station with a Belfast (Queen's Quay) - Bangor service.
