Barney Hughes plaque, Belfast (2)
See Image A local resident drew my attention to this. Apparently College Square North was being used as a film set. The plaque was covered but somebody omitted to remove the cover.

College Square North, Belfast (June 2017)
See Image (May 2012). A similar view but from the west. The recess (middle right) is the set-back building line of the Old Museum Image (no 7). College Square North was once a desirable place to live. The 1852 street directory shows that its residents included “1. Thomas Chermside, flax merchant, Pottinger's Entry . . . . 4. Alex. O'Rorke, solicitor, 14 Donegall Street . . . . . 9. Samuel Graeme Fenton, J.P., Mayor of Belfast”.

Barney Hughes plaque, Belfast
The plaque, at 11 College Square North, commemorates Barney Hughes http://www.ulsterhistory.co.uk/hughesbarney.htm. Children used to be very fond of the rhyme “Barney Hughes’s bread sticks to your belly like lead” – a statement without any known basis in fact. See also Image
