Marks & Spencer, Belfast
Marks and Spencer plc celebrates its 125th anniversary this year. The Belfast branch opened here in Donegall Place (on a much smaller scale), in what was then the ground floor of the Bank of Ireland, in 1967.

A red-brick building is a rarity in Donegall Place. This one, completed in the Edwardian era but most likely planned during the reign of Victoria, has none of the magnificent detail of the high Victorian period but still displays some intricate mouldings. This detail, at roof level, includes a datestone reading “1803 n 1903”. Continue to Image

Conway bus, Belfast
A Metro Wright-bodied Scania in Donegall Place. It will move to Donegall Square East to work the 21.25 service 9A to the Conway Estate (between Dunmurry and Lisburn). This was an Ulsterbus route absorbed into the Belfast Metro service. See also Image
