A mural depicting the "Old" UVF in 'C' Coy Street
The "old" Ulster Volunteer Force was formed in 1913 and were involved in gun running into Northern Ireland during the Home Rule Crises. It numbered around 80,000 men. When war broke out in 1914 the UVF volunteered to join the British Army and were formed into 36th Ulster Division. The 36th suffered massive losses on the first day of the Battle of the Somme in July 1916. The lower mural commemorates the men of the 36th Ulster Division. http://www.1914-1918.net/36div.htm

Ulster Rangers Supporters' Club, Shankill
One of several Glasgow Rangers themed social clubs along the Shankill. It is things like this along the Falls and the Shankill Roads that give Belfast its true 'cultural diversity' - certainly intriguing to anyone from outside Northern Ireland.
