The Education Office, Belfast (detail) (2)
See Image Although the Education Office lacks the heavy ornamentation of the buildings of 30 or so years earlier it, nevertheless, has bits and pieces worth a second glance. This detail, at roof level, includes the date and the fading traces of the former owners – Kirker, Greer & Co. Well preserved despite being in sandstone. Continue to Image

Brown's Row, Belfast
There were two streets in Belfast by the name of “Brown’s Row”. One off Millfield and this one at the northern end of Academy Street. It now exists only as a sign and fenced-off line beside the Education Office Image in Academy Street. See also Image

The Academy Street Exchange, Belfast (2013)
The building (second left) and the adjacent vacant site were never developed as intended. Both are now offered for sale. One of the joint agents describes them as “A planning consent was obtained in September 2006 for the demolition of the existing building and the construction of a five storey office building (Ref: Z/2004/2997/F). We understand that this has now lapsed. Further information available upon request”.
