Mosaic, Belfast (1)
Part of the Laganside Art Trail, in Waring Street, described officially as “Incorporating almost 1,200 individually crafted tiles personalised by visitors and businesses within Cathedral Quarter, each tile tells its own story, including a marriage proposal! At the centre of the art-piece there is a map of the area showing the famous landmarks throughout Cathedral Quarter.” This is really quite an interesting work by Eleanor Wheeler. This part depicts the landmarks of the area – some have survived and some have not. See also Image

Waring Street, Belfast (5)
See Image A Sunday-morning scene, in the shadows and highlights of Waring Street, looking towards Bridge Street and Donegall Street. The dark railings (left) mark the entrance to the former Ulster Bank head office (now a hotel) Image The Cotton Court (renovated warehouse) is on the right. The bright building is The Potthouse which, I’m led to believe, houses a nightclub. The red building behind it is Long Bridge House (named after Image) and best known as the home of the Office of the Industrial and Fair Employment Tribunals.

New building on old site
This site, on the corner of Donegall Street and Waring Street has been a hive of activity for several months. Part of the facade of the old building (on Donegall Street) has been preserved to be incorporated into the new structure.

Former Ulster Bank lamp standards, Belfast (2)
The standards now have globes (provided, I think, during the transformation from bank to hotel) which replaced the previous heads – similar to those once found at RUC barracks.
