The Falls Park
Situated in West Belfast against the backdrop of the Black Mountain, Falls Park became the second public park in Belfast when it opened in 1873. Today, it contains many fine mature trees and grassland areas.

A forest of Celtic crosses beyond the entrance to Milltown Cemetery
These huge granite crosses, erected mainly in the 19th century, commemorate the "great and good" of Belfast's Catholic community, and especially senior members of the clergy.

Gothic arch at the entrance to Milltown Cemetery
Since the cemetery was consecrated in 1869 some 250,000 corpses have passed beneath it to their resting place at 546 Falls Road.

Black Mountain forms the background. The masts are those of the Divis transmitter. This area was MOD land until 2004 when it was acquired by the National Trust. The area has since been open to the general public.
