Dunville Park
A relatively small park situated on the Falls Road, about a mile from the city centre, Dunville Park was given to the city in 1889. It was opened as a public park in 1891 and was officially opened in 1892 by the Marquis of Dufferin and Ava. The fountain, at the centre of the park, is inscribed: "The park formed and completed, was presented as a free gift to the city by Robert G Dunville of Redburn, 1891".

Royal Victoria Hospital - steam engines
A pair of horizontal single cylinder slide valve engines by Victor Coates & Co Ltd of Belfast. They were built in 1903 and drove fans for circulating air to the now largely demolished part of this hospital. They are c12" bore by 16" stroke and the flywheels are 4' 6" diameter.

Royal Victoria Hospital - fan
Large axial flow fan driven by one of two steam engines that back each other up. Now out of use but was certainly still workable in 2005 and this part of the complex was to be preserved.
It is quite remarkable that the only two installations of this type that are known to survive are in Belfast and within a reasonable walk of each other.

Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast
This building houses the heating and ventilation plant for the largely demolished old hospital. This was a plenum system using steam driven fans and steam heating coils. This part is being retained.

Dunville Park, West Belfast
Situated on the Falls Road, about a mile from the city centre, Dunville Park given to the city in 1889 by Robert G Dunville. It was opened as a public park in 1891.
A commemorative statue of local boxer, John Caldwell https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Caldwell_(boxer) , can be seen in the park centre foreground in the picture). John was a west Belfast man who represented Ireland at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne and became World Bantamweight Champion in 1961.

Corner protection, Belfast
Cast iron corner protection at an entrance to the Royal Victoria Hospital on the Grosvenor Road, Belfast. One of a pair and probably cast by the Millfield Foundry but the inscription is beneath layers of paint.
