Another wet day in Belfast [2]
Shoppers on Royal Avenue in Belfast attempt to escape the rain as they dodge between shops. The 16th August 2008 was a particularly wet day in an overall damp summer - see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/7565593.stm for a report on the chaos caused by the rain. See also Image

The Ulster Reform Club (renovations), Belfast (September 2019)
Major external renovation work hidden behind scaffolding and mesh. “Following on from our external fabric survey earlier in the year we are delighted that, with the design work complete, we are now ready to start work on site in Royal Avenue, Belfast, overseeing a maintenance project on the external fabric of this landmark listed City Centre building. We are pleased to be working alongside Dickson Fitzgerald Architects to deliver this prestigious project for the Ulster Reform Club” - contractor’s website. I have neglected this project during street closures after the Bank Buildings fire.

Detail from above a window facing Royal Avenue. Sandstone seems to be an ideal material for such carvings.
