The Grain Barge started life as an engine-less barge that used to be towed across the Severn Estuary from Bristol to Cardiff with cargoes of barley and wheat. Built in Bristol in 1936 by the Charles Hill shipyard, it is now moored opposite its old berth, across the water from the SS Great Britain. Seen above are the multi-coloured new dwellings of Clifton Wood.

Pride of Bristol
Originally launched as an RN Tender (RMAS Loyal Supporter, A107, and later renamed RMAS Messina) this vessel now allows a chance to experience the sea life. A charitable trust, formed in the 1990s, now provides young people with special needs or underprivileged backgrounds with the opportunity to learn some important skills.
