St Bartholomew's church, Lower Failand
The church is a large and impressive focal point of the little village. In 1887, former rector Richard Vaughan founded it in expectation of a major road construction that was planned to come through the area. A new Bristol to Clevedon road would have brought a lot of visitors, but the plans and the road eventually went elsewhere, leaving the church somewhat isolated. It's still a very attractive church, nonetheless.
