The A38 at Stokes Croft
Stokes Croft is an area where there are a majority of independent retail outlets. Next to the colourful Rice & Things, a Jamaican restaurant, is the Pipe & Slippers which picked up a Theme Bar of the Year award within 12 months of opening.

Metropolis, Cheltenham Road
The home of Jesters Comedy Club. It was built in 1914 in an Edwardian Baroque style as a cinema. It closed in 1955 and became a Christadelphian Hall or chapel. It was adapted for use as a bar under the name The Magic Box and now it has been refurbished as a new venue for Jesters Comedy Club

Magpie no more
This site, once used by the Salvation Army, was the site of the Magpie Squat Image, one of the longest running squats in Bristol. It came up under the hammer in April 2016 when a bid by the local community failed to secure it. The squatters were evicted in September 2016. The new owner had plans for a bakery and farm shop but apart from cleaning the area up this has not yet come to fruition.
