St Luke?s Church, Brislington, Bristol
This church dates from the 15th century and includes a bell dating from 1766 and made by Thomas Bilbie Brislington was once described in Victorian times as “the prettiest village in Somerset.” The business trading estates, after the war, coupled with shop outlets and a park and ride for Bristol have all contributed to altering the village.

Nave and aisles of St Luke's
The interior of the ancient parish church. Although it was open on a Heritage Day there was a video screen with footage of the late Queen Elizabeth II. The main part of the church dates from 1420, but the north aisle (left of shot) was added in 1819; further alterations took place in 1874. Grade II* listed.

The aged Thoman Newman
An old tomb in the grounds of St Luke's bears an unusual inscription. Church records are not too clear, but the thought is that some japester has added an extra digit at some point later. See Image] for a wider view.

Preaching Cross in St Luke's
The church itself dates back to 1420 or so, but the cross in its grounds appears to be an older relic. It is thought that it would have been used by Augustinian Canons from Keynsham Abbey.
