Any questions?
A section of St Martin's Road is under the shovel. A bright orange unit is placed on top of it and helpfully asks if there are any questions. The panel it is on seems like a boarded window that might just open up and have someone emerge from inside. However, no-one asked so on-one appeared.

Flats on site of former Gaiety Cinema, Knowle, Bristol
Anchor House, on the corner of Wells Road and Crossways Road, contains 21 flats.
A blue plaque records that from 1933-2000, here stood the Gaiety Cinema,
the last family-owned cinema in Bristol.
The Gaiety Cinema was built during 1932-1933 on the site of a former limekiln.
Seating 800, the cinema opened for the first time on Boxing Day 1933. The last film was shown in 1995. Several fires on the site made the building unsafe, resulting in its demolition in 2000.

The tower on the hill
The need for a good water pressure in an expanding neighbourhood were driving forces in Bristol Water Works building this tower at the top of a steep hill. Surrounding it are covered reservoirs, now enjoying the Spring sunshine.

Odd neighbours
A house is overlooked by the old water reservoir tower. In fairness, the tower is a lot older, built by Bristol Water Works in 1905. The distinctive features of the tower have enabled it a Grade II listing.
