Blocks but no cross

Ornate church railings
Nempnett Thrubwell's church of St Mary the Virgin is a little distance from the houses of the village; worshippers will have to make a trip across Knap Hill to reach it. Given the separate nature, perhaps it is understandable if the railings are rather old and were not gathered in the Second World War for the war effort. The ornate appearance is an attractive feature when visiting it.

Nempnett Thrubwell: parish church of St. Mary the Virgin
The parish church is somewhat detached from the main village area, to the north along a steep, narrow lane. The entrance is through the door in the west end, not via the prominent south porch - although in fact it was closed just now.
