Distance

Featherbed Lane, Clutton
Not such a comfy ride. The road is essentially a farm road at the junction with the A37 at The Flat.

A37 at Clutton
The sun had just come out after a short sharp rainstorm. The reflections on the wet road made this tricky to photograph (taking pictures like this makes you realise just how sophisticated the human eye is!), but I like the result.

Sign in a layby on the A37
Personally, I believe that those who leave litter in laybys - or anywhere else, come to that - should be hung up in the sun by their thumbs until they're sorry. This sign is a step in the right direction, though sadly it hadn't been altogether effective as the hedgerow nearby was full of litter.

On the A37 at Clutton
Taken while my own lorry was parked up in a layby (behind the Downton's wagon) for a break. I'm a great believer in always carrying a camera with me, and while I had my legally required 45 minute break I went for a short walk and took some pictures.

2009 : The A37 at Clutton
Or, more accurately, at the western edge of Clutton. Heading north to Pensford and Bristol.

It'll take a blade
This overnight flooding has been turned into a frozen patch that is quite deep in places.

Dog flap
A curious sign on a stile of sorts - or at least it would be if it was not next to an open space where a gate was. It is assumed that it is not an instruction.

In the distance we see hills south of Chelwood.
