A crafty crossing
The small brook that flows past Blackers Mead and into Compton Dando arrives beside the village hall. In order to get across, a small footbridge has been provided - which clever livestock might use to bypass the cattle grid!

Red frame, green light
Not quite what OMD were thinking of back in the 1970s, this familiar phone K6 kiosk now has no phone but a defibrillator kit. These AEDs are springing up all over the place, usually close to busy public areas.

Compton Dando village hall
Originally built in 1924, the hall has been subject to several alterations and reconstructions between 1980 and 1993. It can hold 80 guests and has a small stage.

Compton Dando coronation fountain
Just beside the village hall is this small fountain, erected to celebrate the coronation of King George V in 1911. A small tributary to the River Chew runs past it.
