Disappearing into the long grass
An old rustic building has been abandoned to the elements, especially the long grasses. Perhaps it was associated with the old mill that operated just across the river valley in times past. Halfway Farm is the large shed in the background.

A garden full of nettles
This old and abandoned farm building is but a couple of end walls now. The grasses and nettles now run riot in the field just by the River Chew.

Betrothed by A and C
The kissing gate on the old tunbridge in Stanton Drew appears to have some extra adornment - chiefly to an unidentified couple. This practice of using padlocks to proclaim love seems to have become a modern fashion, albeit mainly in busy city centres.

Bishop Beckington's Bridge
Crossing the River Chew, this Grade II* and Ancient Monument Listed ( http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-33010-bridge-over-river-chew-stanton-drew ) bridge has stone arches that date from the 14th and 15th centuries. Restoration was carried out during the 19th century and, following flooding, again in 1968. There is an Ordnance Survey rivet mark on the end of the buttress nearest the camera, see Image

Stanton Drew Tun bridge
The old bridge probably dates from the 1300s and has survived the strains of modern traffic and the terrible flood of 1968, when the River Chew took down many others.
