Pillow mounds in Little Sodbury
These irregular and uneven lands above the main road in the village are the remnants of earthworks, known as Pillow Mounds. These were dug in ancient times to encourage the populations of rabbits to breed in them - and hence provide some welcome food! A large warren, by another name. There are more mounds further to the southwest of the old Manor House.
