Grass verge or wildlife refuge?
A concerted effort has been made to keep the areas beside the dual carriageway for Mother Nature's benefit. Clearly the halting of regular grass-cutting has allowed a splendid and diverse growth of wild flowers to thrive. See Image] for a signpost.

2010 : A432 Chipping Sodbury bypass heading west
The far end of the bypass plunges directly onto the end of Yate's high street. Chipping Sodbury and Yate were separate communities 50 years ago, they have now merged into one. Eventually they may get round to giving the place one name, my suggestion, Sodyate.
