Lightening Sky
Whilst the storm raged outside on a muggy Friday evening in May I bravely took a photo. You can see the bottom of Ashgrove Road and a section of Aubrey Road, Bedminster (or 'The Chessels' if you're posh).

The only St Aldhem in Bristol
The church in Chessel Street was founded in 1907 to plans drawn up by W.V. & A.R.Gough. The style is somewhat unusual in that there is no tower or spire and the style includes Gothic, Italianate and Romanesque features. St Aldhem's was finally opened in 1913. In the latter part of the nineteenth century, the land beside the present church was given over to build a mission hall, which was in use until the 1990s and then demolished.

The paddling Prime Minister?
No surprises that there is some form of mural in this part of Bristol but this one is unusually realistic in style and markedly political too.
