Colliter's Brook takes a sharp left
The stream runs down from the heights of Dundry, some miles away and runs into Ashton Gate Stadium. Before the football ground was built in the 1920s, this stream ran under what was to become the stands.

Wedlock Way
A short road in front of Bristol City F.C.'s ground at Ashton Gate. The name recalls one of the club's earliest stars - William John 'Fatty' Wedlock, who played for the Robins from 1900 in over 400 appearances, with 26 for England, too.

Statue, Ashton Gate Football Stadium
At the approach to the stadium is a statue of John Atyeo. He enjoyed a fifteen-year career with Bristol City despite offers from Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and AC Milan which were worth around £20 million in today's money and could have made him the most expensive player in England, making 645 appearances he became Bristol City's all-time top scorer with 351 goals by the time he retired in May 1966. He captained the team during their promotion winning season in 1965.

Going soon
The old East End (Wedlock Stand) of Bristol City F.C., decorated with some urban art. Following the decision to redevelop the ground, this part of the club's history is going to become history - the bulldozers will be here soon to clear the 1928 stand. A new one will replace it, presumably with a greater consideration given to commercial matters than the original.
