An airy apartment
The apartments have not yet been built, of course. The Somerdale chocolate factory produced sweet treats for about eighty years but the end came in 2011. Now the plans for a number of housing and commercial facilities are underway.

Plenty of fresh air
The old Fry's/Cadbury's factory used to put air into the chocolate bars, but now there is plenty of air for the future occupants when their homes are completed.

Watching the changes
Sydenham Mead is a low-lying part of the Avon in Keynsham, popular with walkers, and dominated for most of the twentieth century by the imposing factory. The tree would have seen all the changes when being built and now it's being redeveloped into homes.

The bulldozers have moved in
The old Fry's/Cadbury's factory produced its last chocolate treat a few years ago. Now the old floors are being stripped out and the hi-vis workers are busy converting it into residential apartments. The large grass plain of Sydenham Mead has had some barriers put up, although it is still open to the public.

A new wrapper
The original frontage of the old Fry's chocolate factory remains in the redevelopment, give or take a bit of scaffolding and the odd makeover.
