Old water pump on Sexey's Road
At the crossroads stands an old and rather anonymous water pump. Old maps show it as being here since at least the late nineteenth century, and the modern metal plates at the base suggest it may still have some relevance.

A pump in a field used by pups
The corner of Sexey's Road and Redmans Hill is covered by a small field, used by dogs and part of the veterinary practise beyond. However, the dogs will have to negotiate an old water pump - see Image] for a closer examination.

Crossroads on B3139
Redmans Hill to the right, Wells way to the left. The building ahead is Hugh Sexey School. Hugh Sexey (1556–1619) was born near Bruton, Somerset and attended Bruton Grammar School. By the age of 43 he had been appointed as Royal auditor of the Exchequer to Queen Elizabeth I and later King James I.
