At the heart of Rooks Bridge
The pub and the Post Office, naturally, form a central component. The latter was actually housed a few yards down the road at the crossroads but moved here in the early 1900s.

Rooks, bridges and a water feature
The original water pillar of the village is seen here, restored after being lost for a long time and being found as a garden ornament in the 1990s. Once it would have been the village water supply into the 1900s, but is now returned to its original place. The pillar was accompanied by two metal 'rooks and bridges' as part of the Millennium celebrations. It is no longer connected to the mains.
