The Old Railway Station
The railway disappeared in the 1960s, and the line just to the north of Axbridge is now the bypass road. The station building remains and is currently a youth centre. The original forecourt is at the front in the picture - the bypass runs on the other side of this building.

Axbridge : the former railway station
Another view of Image, with its attractive barge boards. The station functioned between 1869 and 1963. The A371 bypass makes use of the former line of the rail track on the far side of the building.

Axbridge Church
The church of St John the Baptist stands on a small hill above the centre of the village. Construction of the building was started in the early 13th century, but additions and restorations have taken place over several centuries.
