Volunteer Brigade
Banwell's old fire station has had a change of use. In 1883 a Miss Fazakerley of Chorley in Lancashire came to the adjoining Banwell Abbey to recuperate from her health problems. Following her stay, she kindly funded the building of this station, a fire engine and the uniforms for the men in 1887. These days the station has been officially closed since the 1960s and has now become a museum of fire fighting.

A small war memorial
About the same size as many of the other headstones in St Andrew's church yard, this simple memorial bears no names, just the traditional verse. The graveyard has one soldier of the Hampshire Regiment who lost his life in WWI.
