Survey rivet
This small and easily overlooked ironwork is in fact a rivet benchmark, set into the concrete footings of a small gas valve station on The Coots, Stockwood. According to the OS website it was levelled in 1978 and would be contemporary with the estate's construction. See Image] for a wide view and http://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm39859 for the entry in the Benchmark Database. Also see http://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm39859 for the database.
