Shell hood, Merchant Tailors Hall
This former guild hall dates from 1740, but the hood may have been salvaged from the 17th century hall which it replaced.

Tailor's Court
This small court is home to the 1741 Merchant Tailors' Hall (on left) with a lovely shell doorway and lead downpipe. The beautiful shell doorway to the hall which carries the Merchant Tailors coat of arms and may possibly have come from an earlier hall which this one replaced.

A gilded canopy
Some expensive treatment for the entrance to the old Tailor's Guild. Although restored in 1960, there are signs of deterioration, but the gold and colours of the coat of arms remain strong.
