Henleaze Lake from the gardens of Lakewood Road
Henleaze Lake is an old quarry that was abandoned and then flooded in the early 20th century. It is now owned and used by a swimming club and part of it is also used by fishing club.

Henleaze Lake - frozen in January 2010
The lack of foliage allows a clear shot from this vantage point above the lake, from the gardens of Lakewood Road. Given the general mildness of the Bristol climate, the complete freezing over of the lake has been a rare event. (See also photo 2191841 for a summer time view of the lake)
