Old Course of East Grinstead Road
Up to the late 1960s/early 1970s there was a crossroads at North Chailey but the traffic problems have meant the junctions have now been slightly staggered diverting the current course of the A275 a little to the east. This part of the former road is now an access point for some houses and a convenient car park for the May Cottage Tearoom.

May Cottage Tearoom
Located at the staggered crossroads in North Chailey opposite the A275 from Lewes. The house seems to date from the first decade of the 20th century and has been a shop during its history. Well placed to serve those walking out on the common.

North Common
This piece of Chailey Common lies to the east of the A275 and I'm uncertain if it belongs to Red House Common which lies on the western side of the road. Its neglect has seen it turned into birch and oak woodland.
