Horns Lodge Inn
The building was built in the early 18th century as a small pub and two cottages which persisted until the mid 20th century when the pub was extended and took over the entire building. The current front of the building actually used to be the rear as the original road, Green Lane, ran a little to the east. This was redirected in the late 18th century when the brickworks wished to extend operations next to the road. The name of the inn comes from the time it served as a post horse changing stop and references the horns the coachmen carried. The two buildings beyond are Knights Cottages and Lilac Cottages respectively.
