Warehouses, Phoenix Place
Empty warehouses standing on the site of the old Phoenix Ironworks which was redeveloped in the 1950s and 60s. The floods of 2000 affected this area badly and now Lewes Council are looking into redeveloping the area once more.

Spring Gardens
A street that once teemed with housing in Victorian times has been cleared for the benefit of the motor car. Only the warehouse on this side of the street remains. The trees in the background mark the eastern boundary of the graveyard of St John sub Castro.
