A cul de sac off Malling Street that dates to at least the 1840s - at the far end is the former Southdown Brewery which dates from 1838.

The Malthouse, Davey's Lane, Cliffe, Lewes
The building dates from the 1830s and once belonged to the former Southdown Brewery which operated between 1838 and 1924 when they were taken over by Tamplins. The former malthouse has been converted into business units one of whom is currently Abyss Brewery.
Davey's Lane, marked as Davies Lane on older OS maps, was once the parah boundary between St Thomas A Becket, Cliffe and South Malling.
