Priory Crescent
If it seems a piece of Brighton has been transplanted into Lewes it may well have something to do with the fact that the architect for this crescent constructed between 1835-45 was Amon Henry Wilds who helped build much of early 19th century Brighton. Between the church and the crescent are the remains of the former gatehouse to the Priory of St Pancras.

The north side is C14 and the south aisle mid-C16. The tower is early C18 and the chancel C19. It contains the C12 tombstone of Gundrada de Warenne, joint-foundress of the priory. http://www.sussexparishchurches.org/content/view/267/34/ Church website: http://www.southover.org.uk/

Blaker's Tower, Priory Park
Built in the 1850s or 60s by John Blaker who owned the land on which the former Priory of St Pancras stood. It is a Victorian prospect tower which people would visit to climb up and admire the view.

Priory Park, Lewes - Victorian Tower
This little tower is to be found on the northwestern perimeter of Priory Park, adjacent to the railway line which cuts through the grounds of the former Cluniac Priory of St Pancras to the south of Lewes. It has nothing to do with that former religious foundation, as it is Victorian and is probably connected with the construction of the railway in 1845 - some 300 years after the dissolution of this monastery. This little building has its own EH Grade II listing http://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1043878 For information on the priory, see shared descriptions below:

Priory Crescent, Southover, Lewes
This grand crescent would look more at home in Hove or Bath. This view was taken from the top of Lewes Castle.
