The Pest House, Bedlam Street
Located next to Image which can be seen beyond. The original pest house would have acted as an isolation hospital for many afflicted people and were often built in unpopulated areas of the parish. Bedlam Street itself consisted of just this house and a neighbouring cottage until Whitplain Cottage was added in 1843. The current house is probably not the original but still retains the name as a reminder.
