The Ginger Fox
The current gastropub opened in 2008 renaming and replacing the former Shaves Thatch Inn whose owners had gone bankrupt. The pub lies next to Image and was built during the interwar years relying heavily on customers travelling from a distance.

Poynings Crossways
The name of the crossroads at the northern edge of the parish of Poynings. This view is from Muddleswood Road, the B2117, which was originally built as a turnpike in the early 19th century to connect the old London-Brighton road, now the A281, whose bend in the road is visible, with a newer route to the east that is now the A23. Heading north from this junction is Shaves Wood Lane which turns into Truslers Hill Lane before reaching High Cross. Poynings Common is the wood beyond.
