Southdown Villas, Cripps Lane, Steyning
The original name of a pair of town houses built in the 1860s not long after Steyning station was opened. These days the houses are known as South Down House, partially obscured by foliage on the left, and Silvermead to the right.

A cul de sac off Station Road that was built in the late 1980s on the site of a former cattle market that had been located here between 1890 and 1974.

Southdown Terrace, Steyning
A cul de sac off Station Road that was built in the 1870s. The road originally ended at the Railway Hotel which was later demolished.

Cripps Lane, Steyning
An old highway that heads north from Jarvis Lane then becomes Vicarage Lane beyond the junction with Station Road at the foot of the slope. Beyond the church the road changes name again to Church Street.

Blencoe/Glenview, Station Road, Steyning
A pair of late Victorian semi-detached town houses located at the junction of Station Road and Cripps Lane. Blencoe on the left is still a single dwelling whilst Glenview to the right has been split into a pair of maisonettes.

Former Market Warehouse
Viewed from Market Field and now converted into five terraced housing units. Steyning's livestock market flourished from the 18th century onwards and moved from the High Street to a site next to the station in 1890 remaining there until 1974 when it was closed. The field is now covered in housing and all that remains is this former warehouse.

Former Goods Shed, Old Market Square, Steyning
The only surviving building belonging to Steyning's former station. The railway was opened in 1861 and closed in 1966 with all buildings demolished in 1969. The shed survived as it had become part of the neighbouring cattle market and was used as an auction room. When the market closed in 1974 the building lay empty for all until it was converted into flats during the 1980s.

Old Market Square, Steyning
Built on the site of Steyning station sometime in the 1980s. The station was opened in 1861, closed along with the line in 1966 and subsequently demolished in 1969. The trackbed beyond was later utilised as part of the Steyning By-Pass which opened in 1981 leading to the development of the former station site.
