A residential road that runs between Lawrence Road and Portland. The road had been laid out in the first decade of the 20th century with only a few houses at the southern end completed by the 1911 OS map with the rest added by the First World War. Named after the 15th century Italian painter, one of a number of roads in the vicinity named after an artist.

St Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Portland Road, Aldrington, Hove
The Catholic Church purchased this plot of land in 1902 and originally had a small hall on the site. Permission was granted for the church to be built in 1912 which after a change of plans the following year was finally completed in 1915 though not consecrated until 1927. One of eleven Catholic churches within the Brighton & Hove conurbation.
