Council Offices, Denmark Villas
This building is at the very edge of the grid square, in fact the line runs through the middle of the house at the far end. This piece of land has a fair history, it was first built on in 1921 when an Ice Rink was erected on the site. This went bust and was taken over by the Odeon Cinema chain in 1929 and converted into a cinema. The cinema itself lasted until 1961 when that too was closed down and the building was converted for a second time to a bowling alley. Unfortunately, the alley had to contend with competition from nearby King Alfred Leisue Complex and succumbed in 1969. This time the building did not survive being demolished and converted into Council offices. Underneath the offices are a small car repair centre, a health club and a Tesco Express, one of two in this grid square.

Towards Hove Station
Taken from Drive Bridge looking towards the eastern side of Hove station. The station building itself is in the next grid square though the eastern edge of the platform protrudes into this one. The warehouse type structure to the left is Hove Royal Mail sorting office which was opened in 1991 on the site of an old waterworks. The small block behind is the back of this building Image

Original Station Building, Hove Station
Hove's first station opened in 1840 to the east next to Holland Road. This station did not open until 1865 and was originally known as Cliftonville, changed to West Brighton in 1879, Hove and West Brighton in 1894 and finally Hove in 1895. By that point a new concourse had been opened to the west and is still in use today. For many years this building was used as railway offices but has now been let to a car wash firm who operate out of southern side.
