Street Party, Lorna Road
Organised by local residents as a community get together it was first held in 2008 and was successful enough to warrant a follow up in 2009. The stage is in view whilst beyond are tables for the barbecue and out of view is a kids play area. The event runs from late afternoon until about 10.30.

Rainbow over Hove
A very heavy ten minute shower followed by bright sun resulted in this rainbow. Lorna Road is the road just in view.

Wilbury Crescent
Constructed between 1903 and 1905 the curve follows the line of the railway behind the houses in view. Taken from the junction with Bigwood Avenue.

Hove Junction
Looking from Wilbury Villas bridge towards the point where the Cliftonville Spur leaves the West Coastway Line to join with the main London-Brighton line south of Preston Park. This was the first line to built in Sussex connecting Brighton to Shoreham and was opened in 1840, the Cliftonville Spur was added in 1879 to avoid changing at Brighton for those travelling to London.

97-101, Lorna Road, Hove
The house in the middle, number 99 is a former grocers and Post Office and was used as a location for the 1905 film 'Our New Errand Boy', see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mjRDCHsWMk , directed by James Williamson whose Kinenamtograph film studio was based in nearby Cambridge Grove. Nearby Wilbury Villas and its railway bridge were also used as locations in the film.

Lorna Road, Hove
On the left are Image whilst beyond are numbers 77-91 which were built in 1880 and originally known as Doone Terrace. Much of the northern part of the road had been built by 1900 the southern side was not completed until the 1930s.

Lorna House, Lorna Road, Hove
An office building containing a number of different firms including a small cafe on Wilbury Villas accessed by the stairs at the end of the road. Paris House, a student hall of residence, is now visible after the trees were recently pruned.

Viewed from the outside of my flat. The snow arrived about 9.45am this morning and continued until about 1pm. This was taken around 10.30 as the initial sleet turned to snow and began to lay.

Selborne Place
Small side street linking Cromwell Road to Lorna Road under a few centimetres of snow which had started falling around five hours ago. The building in the distance was once a post office.
