St Mary and St Abraham Coptic Orthodox Church
Consecrated in 1900 as St Thomas the Apostle the church was one of many in the area that closed in the 70s and 80s as congregations dwindled. However, unlike others that were closed it was not demolished but taken over by the Coptic Church one of only a handful in this country. Consequently, it was reconsecrated in 1994 by Coptic Pope Shenouda III and is now a well used focal point for the Coptic community in the south. The church stands on the south side of Davigdor Road (the B2120) next to a small footpath between the hedge and the church that leads to St Anne's Wells garden. This view looks west.

Legal and General Offices, Davigdor Road
Judging by the sign the firm may well have vacated part of the building. Originally constructed in 1899 as a depot for Hanningtons department store it was used mainly as a furniture repository. Since the 1980s it has been converted into offices. Despite closing down in 2000 Hanningtons still has a presence in this area as their funeral service operates from premises in Montefiore Road nearby.

Peacock Industrial Estate
Built on an old coal siding and named after Peacock & Nurdin a cash and carry warehouse that initially set themselves up on the site. They have long gone and the small industrial estate is now occupied by Wickes, a carpet store and a few other non-retail units. The building on the right is part of the Legal & General site. The clear early evening sunset has also captured a full moon.

The Montefiore Hospital, Davigdor Road, Hove
Originally built as a furniture repository for Hanningtons, see Image, and opened in 1904 to serve the removals side of their business. The building was sold to Legal & General in 1972 who refurbished the building and remained here until moving to new premises next to the greyhound stadium in 2005. The offices then remained empty for six years until it was purchased by Spire Healthcare who spent much of 2011-12 converting it into a private hospital opening in November 2012.

Nizells Avenue
Running between Summerhill Road and Osmond Road and covered with a light layer of snow. However, as the flash is picking out it had just started to snow again and would not stop until the following morning carpeting the area with a further 8-10 inches. St Ann's Well Gardens is on the right.
