Dinapore House, John Street, Brighton
Built in the 1960s as part of a huge slum clearance between Albion Hill and Carlton Hill with John Street being the eastern end of the development. The flats stand on the former eastern side of Dinapore Street which ran between Albion Hill and Richmond Street, see http://regencysociety-jamesgray.com/volume27/source/jg_27_082.html , that were demolished around 1961 though some of the western housing had been removed by the Luftwaffe during the Second World War. The large block on the left is Richmond Heights whilst the top of Normanhurst can be seen above Dinapore House.

Albion Inn, Albion Hill
Turn west down a footpath that links Richmond Street to John Street then turn north until the junction with Albion Hill is reached. The latter is another step east-west route in this part of town though it marks the northern edge of the slum clearances. The Albion Inn has been known as that since the mid 19th century. Chates Farm Court, John Street, Brighton
Originally the site of Liverpool Street which was built around 1859 and removed as part of a major slum clearance in 1965, see http://regencysociety-jamesgray.com/volume27/source/jg_27_081.html , for a view in 1965. The current flats were not built until 1980 and commemorate the last working farm within the old parish boundary which finally closed in 1934 limited by that point to a small triangular field to the immediate east of these flats.

28, Albion Hill, Brighton
Located on the corner of Jersey Street the current dwelling is the former Albion Inn which opened in 1866 and served its last drinks on 4 January 2015. Not surprisingly the pub was owned by Enterprise Inn who have a reputation for being more interested in the property than the actual business.

Grove Hill, Brighton
The road is a continuation of Image from the junction with Richmond Parade that was built in the 1960s as part of a major redevelopment that involved large scale slum clearances that removed Ashton Street, Cambridge Street and Dinapore Street. They were replaced by a number of high rises, one of which, Normanhurst, can be seen on the right.

Head east up Albion Hill then north along Newark Place. Developed from 1859 and one of the rare streets in this neck of the wood that isn't all parking. The tower block in the background is Highleigh. Click on the link to take you to the next page. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/231705
