The point where the surfaced part of Church Acre Drove ends and continues to the right as an unmade restricted byway. The driveway to the farm was originally the entrance to RAF Pevensey Chain Home radar station and was laid out in 1939.

Church Acre Drove
A former droveway that is surfaced between Wartling Road and the entrance to Pylons Farm then becomes a restricted byway to Rickney Lane. In the half hour it took me to walk down it I was passed by a 4x4, two motocross bikes and three kids on mountain bikes.

Site of RAF Pevensey Chain Home Radar Station
The four blocks to the right are the only remains of one of three transmitter towers that were built here in 1939 and put into storage in 1945 before being dismantled and the land sold in the 1950s. The building on the left is Pylons Cottages which were also part of the site having been built as married quarters for wardens. See http://www.subbrit.org.uk/sb-sites/sites/p/pevensey_chain_home/index.shtml for more details. Viewed from Church Acre Drove.

Pylons Farm
Built on the site of RAF Pevensey Chain Home radar station which operated during the Second World War closing in 1945. The concrete blocks in the field in the foreground are these Image but taken from a different angle and were used to as the base of the receiving masts. There are another set in the distance to the right which can just be made out as well as another in the field next to the bungalow which are not too clear.

The Chilley Stream. from Church Acre Drove
This is the view from Church Acre Drove which is a dead end road off Wartling Road on Pevensey Levels. The river is the Chilley Stream. I am not sure what the ruined building was originally.
